Four Barcelona Players Must Return Their UCL Medals

Despite being Barcelona players, Thomas Vermaeleen, Claudio Bravo, Jordi Massip and Douglas Perreira have been ordered to return their UEFA champions league winners’ medals as UEFA do not see them as winners of the Champions league.

All four players were registered for the UEFA champions league with Barcelona but did not take part in a single game throughout the tournament even though Douglas, Braco and Massip sat on the bench at different times during the tournament, they never actually got on the field and according to voetbalkrant.be, UEFA has ordered the players to return the medals as according to the UEFA rule, a player cannot be awarded a winners medal in the UEFA champions League or UEFA Europa league if the player did not appear in either competition throughout the season
