Zayn Malik has released his first solo less than a week after he announced his official departure from One Direction.
Music produce, Naughty Boy posted the demo “I Won’t Mind” on Soundcloud on 30 March, along with the message: “let the music do the talking. there is nothing but love for what was left behind. thats why we don’t mind.#2016 #zaughty #zindabad” [Sic]
Zayn Malik releases first solo song ‘I Won’t Mind’ with producer Naughty Boy
The track is surprisingly stripped-down compared to singles like “La La La” featuring Sam Smith and “Lifted” with Emili Sande.
Lyrics include the lines: “We messed around until we found/the one thing we said we could never ever live without/I’m not allowed to talk about it/But I gotta tell you” and “I won’t mind/You know I know you know you/You’ll never be mine”.
Reactions on twitter are either from One Direction fans saying they love the song or appealing for Malik to return to the band.
