INTRO: A FEMALE FRIEND SAID THIS: “WHEN A GUY LIKES A GIRL, HE WALKS UP TO HER AND TELLS HER RIGHT AWAY BUT WHEN A GIRL LIKES A GUY, SHE SITS BACK SILENTLY WAITING FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TELL HIM.”
THE TALK: LADIES, WILL YOU SIT BACK AND WATCH A GUY YOU ADMIRE WALK AWAY. IF YES, WHY & IF NO, WHY?
GUYS, WILL YOU BE IMPRESSED IF A LADY WALKED UP TO YOU AND WILL U TAKE HER SERIOUSLY?

BAMIYO: To the ladies… ITUNU, SEYI, CHRISTIE and CHIAMAKA

ITUNU: First, I have never walked up to a guy to tell him I like him or admired him. I believe it’s something we ladies can show through our actions, because going as far as ‘wooing’ a guy is a no for me. If I end up having a conversation that leads us to discuss feelings, yes I can admit but most times I need to be certain the dude in question will feel the same.

SEYI: Bamzie, I will so sit back, cry all I want about it and hope he would at least take notice, and if he doesn't eventually, I would gladly watch him walk away. Reason is not far-fetched. In our society, guys are the ones who give the chase so when a girl does that instead, she is seen as a desperate girl and one with no shame or morals. The world we live in preaches against such as we have to live according to laid down rules and regulations so we ain’t ostracized. But then, what can a girl do? Nothing! Absolutely nothing!! Any girl who tries such would be ridiculed by the guy except if the guy is from another planet. This is funny though but that’s the truth – most guys think backwards. The guy gets the girl he wants in most cases but the girl silently crushes and she dare say nothing so she isn't termed crazy.

CHRISTIE: I’ll so let him walk away. If he's the one, God would definitely bring him to me. Prayer could work too. Walking up to a guy is just out of it, it’s not just part of me – I usually thank God I'm female not male who has to approach ladies. What if I walk up and he doesn't even regard me? That will be very embarrassing. Some could even go about bragging to their friends about the 'proposal'. Bottom line is I can't tell a guy I like him. Telling a past crush about the formerly existing crush is allowed, to laugh it off at least.

‎First of all, I will not let a man I admire walk away and that’s the truth! Except of course he is taken. It’s not like I’ll just see him and then tell him upfront that I like him. I have told many guys I like them and what they’ll imply is I was unfortunately in the friend-zone. I understand the fear most girls have and this fear is due to the orientation of our society. When a woman expresses herself freely, she is either a bitch or a slut or too intimidating, but when a man does, he is just a man. Truth is, if at all I let a guy I like slip away, it won’t be because I can’t, it would be because of the way he reacted.

BAMIYO: Alright. So, asides CHIAMAKA, every other babe here is going to sit back and watch the admired one walk away. That sounds to me like only 10% of our ladies will take that bold step in reality.
Let’s get some reactions from the guys… over to DAMMY, SIMI and DEOLU.

DAMMY: Talking about the impression, I’m indifferent and if I’ll take such babe seriously, yes I will. I believe if a guy can go after a lady then there’s nothing really against the lady going after the guy, the most important thing is the approach.

SIMI: First, I don’t think I will be impressed. Her making the move will kill every interest I have for her in the first place. I prefer to do the chase; I prefer to do the chase and hard work.

DEOLU: Bamzie, this one hard oh considering our society's stance on this issue. But personally, I won't mind if a girl walks up to me and bares her mind, some have done that actually and yea it didn't reduce the respect such people deserved. Who cares who makes the first move these days? Just make sure you're both happy.

BAMIYO: In the end, I leave our readers to drop their comments telling us whose view they support on this topic, thank you.
