THE
INTERVIEW – EPISODE 1
MR. WIZKID, LET'S TALK
This Saturday, we bring to our
readers and viewers an interview we had with Wizkid over the phone and it was
fun chatting with him.
Excerpts:
LET'S BEGIN WITH THE AZONTO
ISSUE BETWEEN YOU AND SKALES?
That
issue is the smallest of the issues I've got to worry about. I mean, how can
some dude just come and start blabbing about some false stuffs. The producer of
the beat already tweeted that the beat was for me. Let's just forget that one.
Skales has missed making the headlines, you know, he probably wants to make the
headlines with my name. He's busy composing tweets when he can just compose one
hit song - life's hard like that for the nigga.
AND WHAT'S UP WITH THE
INSTAGRAM PICTURES EVERYTIME, A FAN ONCE BLASTED YOU RIGHT?
(cuts
in) I said in one interview I had like that, not everyone loves me and yeah, I
understand that well. Instagram, for me is a way of telling those haters that
life is good. Bamzie, you see those shots now. Dem no fresh? I'm just telling
the haters all around that we're doing good and meeting people, spreading my
network. And for the jobless fans tweeting dust, their dads!
DON'T YOU THINK PEEPS HAVE A
POINT SAYING YOU CLAIM GHETTO TO APPEAL TO FANS?
Appeal
keh? We just talked about peeps saying the only thing I do is post pictures on
instagram, now, it is me faking my identity, na only me? I grew up in the
ghetto and hustled my way to the top, there was no one to help. It was that bad
- I even raised loans here and there. All I want to do is to pass a message
accross to my fans that I went through the impossible to get to where I am now
and if I could make it then anyone can too. Na just pure inspiration oh but
some fans can never believe. Maybe it's because I'm now fresh now yo!
TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR
GROWING THAT WE DON'T REALLY KNOW
I
suffered bro! There were times I legged it all the streets of Surulere and
didn't enter school. But one story you won't find anywhere is I owed conductors
money. Bad man thing!
THIS IS QUITE A STORY - SO
HUMBLE! SO WHY DO PEEPS THINK YOU'RE PROUD?
People's
opinion differ bro, it differs a lot and I'm less bothered oh. I don't give a
f**k though. I'm living my life real good after these years of hardship and
some peeps are just not going to make their own living but keep monitoring and
analyzing my lifestyle. I never even begin the tours proper. In the end, it
will be their headache. Shebi Oluwa lo ni.
BEFORE WE END THIS, HOW WOULD
YOU REACT TO THE FAN THAT TWEETED THAT YOUR SONG IS MADE OF "OH YEA
YEA..."
Haha!
To be frank, you sabi say lyrics no too plenty these days and na something go
make song complete. Those sounds I put in song is to make it sweet and also
feel the vibe in my voice. If I had the time and courage back then when the
hustle was so real, I would have gone for one of those music talent hunts. For
the fan who said on twitter that I'll spoil Asa's track with that hasn't
pictured it clearly, and I’m sure he’ll swallow his words when we do the
collabo. Once again, their dads! My autotunes (laughs) go ginger the song.
MR. OH NA NA NA, NASO.
No
shit bro. Peace out!

SCUTTLEBUTT:
Stories about other people's private lives, that may be unkind or untrue.
(Gossip).
This
piece is a scuttlebutt and in reality, there really was no interview with the
aforementioned celebrity. This idea behind this piece is to entertain our
viewers. It is a funny make-up of what the columnist thinks and it is merely to
amuse.
Any
form of embarrassment and insult on the personality is not intended. Thank you
