Out of the 88 beauties representing their various countries, 22 year old Paulina Vega, representing Colombia took the crown home. No African country made it through the first stage.
Paulina Vega is a student of business administration at Barranquilla, Colombia. Miss Colombia was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela.
Natalie Morales of the Today show hosted the competition. The broadcast included performances by singers Nick Jonas and Prince Royce.
