Arsenal came to Man. City and they won, there was a Mourinho-masterminded whitewashing and more. Here’s this week’s definition of the EPL’s big boys:

Scoring for fun!: The Guv'nor gets a brace against The Swans

Chelsea: Rampant Team, Unimpressed Coach

This was a team on a certain mission: Take advantage of playing before the competition and increase the gap between them. They were merciless, put on a display and sent a message to the reigning champions. In other news, while they were 5 goals up, the Only One still looked unimpressed. Surprising? Maybe not. He must have been impressed after seeing Arsenal help his team put Man. City on a breather for the main time.

Man Utd: Wasteful

LVG needed to win to keep up with the Joneses. They looked good all round but a certain Falcao was guilty of losing chances that were begging his finishing touches.

Liverpool: Keeping Up

The Reds are looking good again. They are back in the top half of the league table, they’re being as consistent as possible, winning games without conceding goals and quietly climbing up the EPL ladder.

Arsenal: Organized at the Back, Tactless Up Front.

Kudos to a defense that sat in deep, waited and made timely tackles and interceptions and a DMF that was on his toes the whole time. Asides that, the fact that two goals were scored and a last 10 Arsenal-dominated minutes, the rest was disorganization on show. Alexis did all the playing and running but the others preferred to be static and moved into position sluggishly which made the scoreline look moderate.

Man. City: Disconnected

First it was a series of gifting away possession happily to their opponents. Then there was a certain inconsistent Fernandinho and then a wasteful Navas who was certainly the Flop of the Match. Aguero was stranded for most parts of the game as there was absolutely no connection between the midfield and the attack. More attackers were brought on but that lost connection wasn’t restored. Again, Yaya Toure has been SORELY MISSED. Again, Man. City have dropped points in the title chase.
