The United Nations revealed that, the infected UN peacekeeper was tested positive to the disease on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 and the diagnosis was announced by the organization the next day.
UN said the infected soldier will be flown to Netherlands for treatment. Inge Freriksen, a spokesperson for the Dutch Health Ministry said on Friday, December 5, 2014 that the patient is expected to arrive in Amsterdam at the weekend and will be isolated in a “calamity unit” at the University Medical in Utrecht.
Ebola has killed over 6000 lives this year but cases of the deadly disease are said to be on the decline in Liberia.
