Lionel Messi breaks former real Madrid forward Raul Gonzalez’s record to become the all time highest goal scorer in the UEFA champions league.
Lionel Messi scored an hat trick in Barcelona’s UEFA champions league clash against APOEL Tel Aviv brought his tally in the competition to 74, three more than the previous record held by Raul who scored 71 goals.
Barcelona trashed APOEL, 4-0 and luiz suarez opened the scoring with his first goal in a Barcelona jersey. Messi scored the hit first goal just before the break, scored the second with a beautiful chip in the 58th minute before rounding off the victory in the 72nd minute to score his 72nd , 73 rd , and 74th champions league goals.
This is coming three days after the Argentine captain became the La Liga’s top scorer of all time.
