This week’s episode of Vampire Diaries starts off with Stefan seeking revenge. He’s not letting Enzo get away with his new (now dead) girlfriend’s murder, which means – that’s right – he’s headed back to Mystic Falls (silent cheers).
Elena, on the other hand, has taken on a newfound party girl identity and is planning a shindig to reunite the whole gang, and she even invites Liam to introduce to Caroline. Will love be in the air? Methinks not.
Tyler, strangely enough, needs a favor from our witchy friend (or foe) Liv…stay tuned on this front; I’m just as confused. But before I can ponder this for too long – Stefan has officially returned!
He and Elena spend some time catching up and awkwardly try and have a discussion about healing from losing Bonnie and Damon. The subject quickly turns to Elena’s swimming hole party, which she promptly invites Stefan to stop by. He hops on the opportunity once she slips in the fact that Enzo will also be in attendance, meaning…there will be blood.
In other news, the odd pair of Bonnie and Damon is still searching for answers. They know someone else is trapped in this realm with them…it’s just a matter of figuring out who – and better yet, why?
Now it’s party time. Proving some things never change, Jeremy is seen making out, Tyler is aggressive, and Matt breaks up a fight. Beyond typical. Elena tries desperately to make the group have “normal” fun – she even brings Jell-O shots. Sadly, no one else is on board for the antics.
In a sudden turn of events, Damon meets the mysterious man who’s stuck in the realm with them. His name is Ky, and he’s got an agenda. He admits he’s been following Damon for a reason all right, and one swig of whiskey later, Damon is flat on his back coughing up vervain…message received.
But why does he want Damon dead? It looks like we won’t find out just yet because Bonnie shows up in the nick of time and get this – she can use magic. Turns out Ky is up against more than he bargained for, which forces him to bolt from the scene of the crime.
In the next scene we witness a full-on Caroline attack against Stefan. She’s not buying he’s only returned to Mystic Falls to kill Enzo – he has too many people he cares about here and it’s time for him to stay. But, just like that, he walks away…
And now for another bomb to drop – Sarah, the new girl Elena attacked and Jeremy is now dating has been keeping a secret. When she left Mystic Falls, she was no longer compelled to forget that Elena was a vampire since magic isn’t allowed within the city limits. Basically, Sarah knows an animal didn’t attack her…so why is she playing dumb?
Well, it appears we may learn what Tyler needs from Liv after all – or should I say what Liv needs from Tyler. Yep – it’s true…Liv’s got the hots for our werewolf friend. Maybe I’m just blind to this kind of thing, but I really didn’t see that one coming.
Next, something incredible happens…Caroline admits to something huge when Elena asks the question we’ve all been waiting for…does she have feelings for Stefan?
“Yeah, I think maybe I did,” Caroline whispers.
And in this week’s final scene, we see Stefan join forces with the newly arrived founding family dude to accomplish his unwavering goal – yep, it’s goodbye to you, Enzo…
What is up with this new guy and why has he just now arrived to town? And what about Ky – does anyone else think we haven’t seen the last of him?
