First things first. I encourage arguments, I want you to tell me this starting line up sucks!

I want you to comment below, I’d like you to state valid points why the team is not the best that the Premier league had to offer!

I picked the players based on their statistical output, via whoscored.com, so hence Diego Costa did not make our team of the week.

Any way, drum rolls please…

I picked a 4-2-3-1 formation because I think that’s the ideal line up for the Premier league, none of that 3 defender nonsense.

The 2 midfielders at the base are a combination of an anchor and a link between the defence and attack. Kind of like the combo Fabregas and Matic have or last season with Toure and Fernandinho.

Above the base are the 3 midfielders, a midfield attacker plays in the hole, with the two wide men providing fire power for the lone striker.

There are tons of premier league clubs who adopt this formation, not to talk of the English national team. So I guess you can understand why I chose it.

Irrespective how individual teams play, I fit their players into this formation depending on the reality of their output. So even if I see Rooney starting as a striker and he ends up dropping deep for the likes of Falcao and RvP, you can guess I won’t regard him as one.

DEFENSE

In goal, David de Gea was exceptional for United, he made five saves and kept out an all important penalty, that’s excellent in my book.

The two centre backs are Hull City players, both had 9 tackles between them and shut out their Crystal Palace superbly, did I mention they had a clean sheet.

Ivanovic at right back back is pretty obvious to me, he had a dominating game against Arsenal. Not at his offensive best but was instrumental in keeping a clean sheet.

My choice of Armand Traore might be seen as daft, he is the only player on my team who lost and conceded 2 goals. AND HE PLAYS FOR QPR. That on it’s own is an insult. -__-

But the man won 83% of his aerial challenges, kept his fouls to a minimum with just 1 and completed 3 tackles. So it’s pretty clear the errors weren’t from his end.

Moving to midfield, I picked Jordan Henderson who was magnificent. Providing a goal and an assist. He also provided 4 key passes. If Henderson is in my team to create.

Diamé is there to destroy. He had 4 tackles, 3 interceptions and an effective clearance. Plus he scored!

My attacking trio sorta picked themselves. Di Maria was excellent with creating and scoring both goals. He had the highest amount of shots and shots on target in the match against Everton, that’s 6 and 2 respectively. Had the highest key passes with 5, touched the ball the most 88, had the most dribbles 4, and had a total of 19 crosses. That’s huge!!! In simple language. DI MARIA WAS A BOSS!

Mahrez on the wings was also very good value. He was fouled a total of 3 times and registered an assist and a goal to his name. Not a bad day at the office.

Connor Wickham provided a goal and an assist, along with 2 key passes and 4 successful dribbles.

Steven Fletcher scored his first goal of the season against Stoke, scored his second and still set up Connor Wickham for a goal.

So yes Fletcher over Costa!!! At least last week he was.

If you think I missed something. Feel free to use the comment section below. Let’s see if Y’all can tackle me!!!
