They were the brains behind the 9/11 worst terror attack ever on U.S soil and 48-year-old Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, the former Al-Qaeda spokeman and son-in-law of Osama Bin Laden shows no remorse about their deadly attack.
In March, he was found guilty of helping al Qaeda terrorists conspire to kill Americans and providing material support to terrorists.
“Justice has been served,” U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement. “This outcome ensures that Sulaiman Abu (Ghaith), a senior member of al Qaeda and an associate of Osama bin Laden, will never again set foot outside a prison cell.”
The life term was imposed by U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan.
However, there were no victim-impact statements as Abu Ghaith rather went off on a five-minute rant about his sentence, the cold-blooded terrorist claims
“A free man is the one who does stand on his feet, not the one who lives sitting on his knee, and I have made the choice to live as a free man,”
“(I) will not ask for mercy from anyone except God. It is the eternal religion of Allah that will remain until the day of judgment.”
“At the same time you shackle my hands and intend to bury me alive, you are at the same time unleashing the hands of hundreds of Muslim
youth,”
“They will join the ranks of the free man. Soon and very soon, the whole world, the whole word will see the end of these theater plays known as trials. You and your government can decree what you want to decree. Nothing will befall us except what Allah has ordained. He is our protector. Dignity belongs to Allah and to his believers.”
