Forbes magazine has released its latest list of the top 10 highest paid athletes in the world, taking into account their winnings and sponsorship deals.
Floyd Mayweather tops the list by a wide margin with C. Ronaldo and Lionel Messi Ranked 2nd and 4th respectively, but Mayweather remains the only boxer in the top ten (Manny Pacquiao comes in at 11).
The rest of the list is made of of men from the realms of football, basketball, golf, tennis, and American football, with Americans making up 60% of the rankings.
Top 10 highest paid athletes in the world 2014 includes
1. Floyd Mayweather (Boxing/USA) – $105 million (£64.5m)
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Football/Portugal) – $80 million (£49m)
3. LeBron James (Basketball/USA) – $72.3 million (£44.5m)
4. Lionel Messi (Football/Argentina) – $64.7 million (£39.8m)
5. Kobe Bryant (Basketball/USA) – $61.5 million (£37.8m)
6. Tiger Woods (Golf/USA) – $61.2 million (£37.6m)
7. Roger Federer (Tennis/Switzerland) – $56.2 million (£34.6m)
8. Phil Mickelson (Golf/USA) – $53.2 million (£32.7m)
9. Rafael Nadal (Tennis/Spain) $44.5 million (£27.4m)
10. Matt Ryan (American Football/USA) – $43.8 million (£26.9m)
